The magical world of the famous puppet is brought to life with the kaleidoscopic choreography by Claudio Ronda, the fantastical costumes by Ivan Stefanutti, and the timeless music of Edoardo Bennato. We all know the story: Pinocchio, the wooden puppet, becomes a real boy, tempering his wild ways through a journey that teeters between the dreamlike and the real. It’s life, with all its twists, traps, joys, and sorrows.
In this ballet, everything is channeled into a circuit: the game of Snakes and Ladders transforms into the Game of the Puppet, and the ballet’s stages are marked by the lighting of a large board that serves as both a set and a link. Jacovitti reigns with his illustrations, which come to life in the background. In front, the ensemble choreography and duets feature characters like the Cat and the Fox, the Blue Fairy, the Talking Cricket, villagers, schoolchildren, and the teacher, creating vivid imagery to support the story of Pinocchio and Geppetto.
A lively and highly enjoyable performance, it is suitable for both adults and younger audiences. It lends itself to various interpretations and levels of understanding, making it accessible to all ages, and can be presented to both elementary and high school students.
The show has enjoyed considerable critical and public success, having been performed in over 300 venues, and featured in numerous festivals and theaters.
