Almost deaf... I like pigs
Show Information
A performance in which the world of the deaf and the hearing communicate, where how something is said is not important, but rather what is being said. The hearing person will approach diversity by seeing voices and listening to music through the vibrations felt in their body while holding a balloon. Italian Sign Language (LIS) serves as the foundation for the choreographic development. Behind the signs, a quote from Charlie Chaplin about the meaning of life guides the performance:
“You will always be criticized, people will speak ill of you, and it will be hard to find someone who appreciates you just as you are! So live, do what your heart tells you, life is like a theater play, which has no rehearsals: sing, dance, laugh, and live each day of your life intensely before the play ends without applause…”
In 2013, at the Cortoindanza festival in Cagliari, it received the Critics’ Award for innovation in choreographic language; it was a finalist project for the GD’A Puglia Award in 2011, realized with the support of Dansystem as part of the PO FESR Puglia 2007-2013 Axis IV Action 4.3.2, entrusted by the Puglia Region to the Teatro Pubblico Pugliese.
