The performance arises from the Association’s desire to give space to the company’s dancers and promote emerging young choreographers. The Noise of Love is the result of a journey that begins with a study titled Beyond Borders, presented at the Percorsi D’Autore showcase, and is further enriched by the material collected during the body movement and theatrical workshop conducted by Vito Alfarano and dancer Paola Maran at the Rovigo Correctional Facility.
Four dancers take the stage to dance and speak. Falling in love is the central theme, with all its “noises,” sometimes delicate sounds and other times stormy clamor. Tempests similar to those in which Paolo and Francesca are forced to navigate in Dante’s Inferno. The dance of their souls is moving and contrasts with the coldness of the prison sounds where, after a workshop with inmates, images, words, songs, tears, and smiles were collected.
Here are the stories of contemporary lovers, whether they are incarcerated or free. Here are the dancers who put themselves on the line, using words as well. Delirium, vertigo, anticipation, suffering, celebration are all expressed through music that is sometimes exhilarating and other times delicate, in bursts of energy that the dancers will infuse into their bodies.
The Noise of Love, in its depths of intimacy and animality, without intellectual filters, will deeply engage lovers and all those who have been in love at least once.
